New York Beat: Breaking and Entering Volume 2 by Various Artists

Sorry for the late post today but it works out as this is a great album for those late nights. Moon Ska Records is rather infamous for their roster, exemplifying a traditional ska sound in a time when most newcomers were associating ska with its punkier styles a-la The Mighty Mighty Bosstones and the bands coming out of the OC ska scene. This compilation show cases a wide variety of styles from the old school to the jazzy to the two-tone. Stand out tracks for me are Montalvo by the New York Ska-Jazz Ensemble for its smooth jazz sound combined with that traditional ska off-beat and Better Days by Edna's Goldfish because its lyrics speak to me and it makes great night city driving!
